The Historical Society of Cheshire County will host a free online event on the Railroads of Hancock and Harrisville on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at 11 a.m.

Join Alan Rumrill, Executive Director of the Historical Society of Cheshire County, for an enlightening talk on the train history of Hancock and Harrisville. Through the use of archival photographs and the historical record, Rumrill and Nelson Librarian Kristine Finnegan will discuss where these railroads went, when they ran, and how they were built. Join for a virtual ride on the Hancock and Harrisville lines, and get a glimpse of the local rail trails from a time before they were home to hikers.

This event is co-sponsored between the Nelson Library Winter Program Series and the Historical Society of Cheshire County.
