The Sharon Select Board looked into the potential for setting designated hours for target shooting in town after a noise complaint, but is now directing residents to contact police if they have questions or concerns.
The conversation started when a resident complained about gunfire noise at their Sept. 15 meeting. Select Board Chair Diane Callahan said she checked with the state and other towns about setting noise ordinances, and ultimately stopped pursuing the matter.
โItโs a very tricky thing, especially when it comes to second amendment rights,โ she said. Residents โcan always call the policeโฆ if they have any questions or if they feel like something is out-of-bounds,โ she said.
