Saturday, July 4: The Antrim Historical Society will celebrate Independence Day with the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Bandstand on Jameson Avenue. Free coffee and tea will be served beginning at 8:30, and at 9 a.m.,ย the Boy Scout Color Guard of Troop 2 will lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance and the presentation of the colors, which will be followed by the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner. At 9:15 a.m., the reading of the Declaration of Independence will begin. The Antrim Historical Society asks that those attending adhere to the CDC guidelines by wearing a mask and socialย distanceย from other families.
JAFFREY
Saturday, July 4: Virtual Reading of the Declaration of Independence. This event, usually held annually at the Jaffrey Meetinghouse, is virtual this year. The reading, pre-recorded on June 20, is scheduled to be broadcast at noon on July 4 on the Jaffrey town website, and available for on-demand viewing afterward. Fireworks on the 4th, presented by Atlas Pyrovision and The Shattuck Golf Course/Dublin Road Taproom. CC&Dโs Kitchen Market will be at the Shattuck Golf Course from 4 to 8 p.m., doing a pig roast. The Dublin Road Taproom will be open until 9 p.m., and bar open until 10 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. There is no charge for viewing the fireworks, but guests are asked to maintain social distancing, and to wear masks while walking around or getting food. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and snacks, but all alcoholic beverages must be purchased from the Taproom. Tailgating in the parking lot is allowed.
TEMPLE
Saturday, July 4: The Temple Ladies Aid group is serving up ice cream sundaes to go outside the Temple Store from 4 to 6 p.m. for $4 apiece. Proceeds will support local charities.
