Hancock transfer station personnel are now hand sorting all glass after the public continued to dump plastic, lightbulbs, and other unacceptable items into the glass container, manager Rick Plankey announced at Hancock’s Dump Committee meeting on June 19. The committee also determined that it was too early to reopen the Swap Shop to the public because the space was too small for visitors to appropriately physically distance. According to meeting minutes, Swap Shop volunteers are considering having an outdoor drop off day for Swap Shop materials, followed by a “come and shop” day sometime in August.
