Emergency personnel extracted two occupants from a rolled over pickup truck on Route 124 in Sharon on Wednesday. Emergency personnel were summoned at 12:54 p.m. after the vehicle left the road, rolled over, and ended up on its side between the Jaffrey town line and Swamp Road, Peterborough Fire Chief Ed Walker said. Both the male driver and female passenger were still in the vehicle wearing seatbelts when first responders arrived, Walker said. They extracted the passenger through the windshield, and they extricated the driver after cutting the roof off the pickup, he said. The female passenger had a leg injury but was conscious, alert, and oriented, Walker said. The male driver was somewhat less alert and oriented, and witnesses indicated there might have been a medical event prior to the accident, he said. Both parties were transported by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
