The Antrim Zoning Board of Adjustments is seeking alternates this year to serve on the board. Alternates take the place of Board Members during Public Hearings on applications if a board member is absent, and participate as non-voting members in all other circumstances. There is a strong need for at least one, if not two alternates to be on the ZBA this year. The ZBA is a voluntary board made up of five citizens who act as the “constitutional safety valve” in a quasi-judicial capacity to interpret the zoning ordinance for the protection of the citizens.
