“Angst,” a documentary raising awareness about anxiety, is available for viewing online thanks to a number of area nonprofits, which are staging related virtual Q&A sessions through the month of June. Monadnock Family Services and The River Center Family Community Resource Center are co-presenting the film, which has 500 viewings available online and is funded by the Peterborough and Monadnock Rotary Clubs. The documentary, an original by the entertainment company IndieFlix, interviews children and teens, educators, experts, and parents and is suitable for educators, families, all age students, and community members.
“Children are learning and summering at home, parents are working at home, and some are working on job sites, struggling to find childcare,” the Rotary Club wrote in a statement. “A number of parents have the additional stress of unemployment. We are constantly reminded of COVID-19 as we see masks on friends, store employees, other shoppers, or maybe we’re feeling more anxiety when we see people who are not wearing masks and ignoring social distancing. Children can’t help but feel the anxiety in these uncertain times – compounding the anxiety they live with every day.
