Rindge police are searching for two armed robbery suspects who they say stabbed a North of the Border clerk and took cash from the store Friday night.
The store clerk, who fired shots at the robbers as they fled the store, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, Rindge police said in a press release Saturday morning.
Police responded to North of the Border convenience store on Route 202 Friday night at 9:39 p.m. for a report of gunshots and two males running from the store with an injured male inside the store.
When Rindge police officers arrived they determined a male store clerk was working at the store when two masked individuals came in the store wearing dark-colored clothing and masks.
“The individuals jumped the counter and attacked the store clerk who received injuries to include a stab wound to the abdomen. One of the individuals was wielding a knife and the other a black handgun,” Rindge police said in the press release.
The store clerk was taken to Henry Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts by Jaffrey-Rindge Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
“During the altercation, an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the store. The clerk shot at the two suspects as they were fleeing the scene. NH State Police K9 completed a track that did not provide any substantial information,” Rindge police said in the press release.

Along with Rindge Rescue and Jaffrey-Rindge Ambulance, Rindge police were assisted on scene by Jaffrey, Fitzwilliam police, state police and Winchendon, Massachusetts police.
