To the editor:
Thirty-eight years ago, I moved into this small community and fell in love with Rindge The beautiful views of Mount Monadnock, the countryside, walking in the woods, swimming in it’s lake and ponds, and experiencing nature in all her glory. Then and now I love the change of seasons, the wildlife, the serenity, and the safety of our community.
I grew up in a city, with treated water, so the simple joy of turning on my faucet and drinking clean chemically clear water was enjoyable. It seemed everyone wanted the same thing so the community came together and established a “Master Plan” for the town. We wanted to keep Rindge rural. Sure we wanted growth but not so careless and rampant that we fail to employ common sense. If we destroy our water it’s too late. If we destroy our rural character we can’t get it back.
Rindge has approximately 1,800 residences. What impact will the creation of 27 new houses on Dale Farm Road, 66 residences on Route 119 and 14 near Lake Monomonac have on our town? What will be the impact on schools, police, fire, and highway departments. What will be the cost to the Rindge taxpayer and what consequences?
Please do your homework and if you are in favor of keeping Rindge rural and protecting our natural resources support the “Master Plan” by voting yes to the impact fee and growth management warrant articles. Ignore the opinions of the Rindge Planning Board.
