The death of a man at an Antrim home on Monday was the result of self-inflicted injuries, Antrim Police Chief Scott Lester said Wednesday.
Lester said the injuries were not accidental.
According to a press release issued by Lester Tuesday morning, Antrim and Hillsborough police responded to a Prospect Street address at approximately 3:25 a.m. on Monday. Police found the 27-year-old man dead from his injuries and determined the circumstances surrounding the death were suspicious.
Lester said Wednesday that it wasn’t immediately apparent whether the incident had been an accident or not, so they opened an investigation.
The NH Medical Examiner’s Office and Detectives with the NH State Police Major Crimes Unit responded to assist in the investigation.
On Tuesday an autopsy was conducted and the state medical examiner concluded that the injuries were self-inflicted.
