Delta blues guitarist Eric Gales comes to the Peterborough Town House on Nov. 22 fresh from a two day ceremony and a parade through the streets of Memphis, Tennessee in his honor. The ceremony culminated with the guitar hero being awarded the prestigious Brass Note on Beale Street.

Not only is Gales this year’s recipient of the Memphis Brass Note Awards, he was just named the Blues-Rock Artist of the Year. A guitarist’s guitarist, Gales has shared the stage with, and received accolades from guitar legend Carlos Santana.

Gales’s use of a right-handed guitar, but playing left-handed, has been compared to the great Jimi Hendrix, and brings an incomparable and unique texture to his style. When he was only 16 years old, his talents caught the eye of Elektra Records, who released his debut album.

Gales proudly shares his story each night before every show, and now, achieving over two years of sobriety, he is creating some of the most breath-taking music of his career. Gales signed with Mascot Label Group in 2017, and has released two albums, 2018’s “Middle of the Road” and 2019’s “The Bookends” both deeply personal and introspective works featuring his signature guitar playing.

Supporting Gales is this year’s winner of the Boston Blues Awards, Veronica Lewis. Lewis, an exciting, emerging talent in the Blues and Roots world, is the winner of the Boston Blues Challenge 2019. She wows her audience by bringing Blues, Boogie Woogie and Roots piano into the 21st century with flair, exuberance, and originality. At 16, she is a four-time Granite State Blues Youth Challenge Winner and the recipient of the 2019 W.O.W. Rising Star Award.

The show is at 8 p.m. with doors open at 7. Tickets are $24 to $34.
