No. 8 Mascenic (9-5) will host No. 9 Stevens (8-6) Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the NHIAA Division III opening round. The winner gets a trip to No. 1 Hopkinton (13-1).

In Jaffrey Friday, the Conant girls shut out ConVal,
4-0, ending the Cougars’ postseason hopes.

ConVal (4-10) needed a win to catch Laconia (4-9-1) for the 14th and final playoff spot.

Elizabeth Gonyea and Teagan Kirby each scored twice; Gonyea added two assists and Chelsea Dupuis had an assist as well.

“We have had such a hard and emotional week following the tragedy we had at Conant,” said head coach Jackie Brown. “My entire team played so well today!”
