Evanstonโs Living History is the story of people paying a big price for rights and liberties that many of us take for granted; a community whose indomitable spirit influenced the conscience of a nation. It is the struggle for justice that extends back to the town of Abbeville, South Carolina and the horrific lynching of one of its prominent citizens, Anthony Crawford. It is the story of Crawfordโs descendants working alongside the families of Emmett Till, Michael Schwerener, James Earl Chaney, and Andrew Goodman to gain passage of United States Senate Resolution 39, which apologized for the failure of the Senate to enact anti-lynching legislation.
Aliceโs Ordinary People is a new documentary about Alice Tregay โ a woman who refused to stand still for injustice and brought others together to change what was. Her remarkable story spans the historic period from the marches of Dr. King to the election of Barack Obama. And her great contribution in the field of politics is the thread which connects the two.
