To the editor:
As I begin my third year as program coordinator of the Dublin Community Center, I’d like to express my appreciation to the DubHub board members, as well as the members of the Dublin town community, for their support. I’d also like to extend my thanks to those who come to the DubHub for various events, helping us to be a vibrant center of activity for arts, education and health.
During my tenure we have continued to offer art shows with monthly openings, community lunches along with bi-monthly “nurse is in” visits, informative community forums, coffee and conversation three mornings a week, exercise classes (dance fitness, qigong and yoga) and an annual chicken BBQ. To these we have added a popular open mic, a revamped song circle, an annual story hour (similar to “the Moth”), author readings, benefit concerts, plays, a Code Club for young people, and many other events. On top of that, we rent out our facility to businesses, clubs, nonprofits, and private parties for meetings, classes, receptions, parties, dinners, and even a wedding.
I have met, as well as worked with, many fascinating people through my job. I continue to go to the DubHub to see what exciting and interesting things are going to happen there during the week.
Thank you, Dublin and members of the surrounding community, for your continued support.
