A single-vehicle crash in Dublin Wednesday afternoon knocked down power lines and blocked off Route 101 for about half an hour.
According to Dublin Police Sgt. Jeremy Jeffers, a woman driving a gray SUV was heading out from Old Peterborough Road onto Route 101 when her vehicle struck a stop sign and utility pole before crossing the highway, descending an embankment and coming to rest in the woods.
โI donโt think they were planning to go straight,โ Jeffers said, adding that he was still gathering information from the driver and witnesses.ย โI donโt know what their intention was at this time.โ
Jeffers said it looked like the collision with the utility pole knocked the power lines loose; as they were dangling over the roadway, a second vehicle came through and hit them and knocked them onto the ground, blocking Route 101.
No one was injured in the incident. Route 101 was closed for about 30 minutes as Eversource cleared the power lines and Gauthier Auto towed the SUV from the woods.
