A 16-year-old Jaffrey boy was airlifted with serious injuries after a motor vehicle crash on Saturday evening.
Police responded to Gilmore Pond Road at the Mountain Brook Reservoir on Saturday at 7:41 p.m., for a report of a motor vehicle accident with the driver trapped, Jaffrey Police Chief Bill Oswalt said Monday.
The 1994 Chevrolet Geoprism had left the road, impacting with a pine tree.
The driver, a 16-year-old Jaffrey resident, was unconscious when police arrived.
โHis head was sandwiched between theย vehicleโs b-pillar and the headrest,โ Oswalt said, referring to the frame separating the front and back seat.
From tire marks at the scene, it appears speed was a factor in the crash, Oswalt said.
โIt appears he couldnโt manage the curve at the speed it was being operated,โ Oswalt said. โThe vehicle spun back, wrapping it around the tree.โ
The driver was airlifted by helicopter to UMass Memorial in Worcester with serious injuries.ย
