To the editor:
It has always interested me that people who are NIMBYs can never recognize this characteristic in themselves. They always believe that their resistance to change is based on the most virtuous motives and the most sensible reasons. They are unable to see that they are denying opportunities to others who are less wealthy or less fortunate than themselves.
Please, voters of Peterborough, push Warrant Article 15 back into the trashcan of history where it belongs. Allow Our Town to grow organically, from the center, to become as diverse and as compact as possible. Let it continue to be a place where young families can enjoy walking with their children to the Toadstool, the library, and Roy’s, and where retirees can live close enough to the center to walk to meet their friends for coffee.
Vote No on Article 15!
