A Troy man suffered a minor head injury on Tuesday afternoon after he lost control of his vehicle in a Dublin driveway.
Dublin Sergeant Jeremy Jeffers said Matthew Meacham, 23, of Troy, was traveling up an Old County Road driveway when a mechanical failure caused his vehicle to roll back down the hill and strike a tree.
“He was bringing some wood up the driveway and lost power,” Jeffers said. “He rolled back and luckily he hit [the tree] perfectly.”
If Meacham’s vehicle didn’t strike the tree, Jeffers said it would’ve likely continued on down an embankment on the other side of the road.
Meacham was working at the property according to Jeffers.
Jeffers said he arrived on scene at about 2:30 p.m. and that the accident had occurred about three hours prior.
A passerby alerted police of the crash, Jeffers said.
An ambulance was called to the scene but Meacham was not taken to the hospital.
