Lyndeborough re-elects Douglas for new term

Incumbent Select Board member Frederick Douglas will continue in his position this year, after running uncontested in Tuesday’s ballot voting.

Voters cast 191 ballots on Tuesday, or about 15 percent of the town’s registered voters.

In the contest for Library Trustee, the two open seats will go to Sally Curran and Nancy Howe.

Howe, with 102 votes, narrowly edged out current Trustee Chair Bob Rogers, who had 100 votes.

In the other contested race on the ballot, Rogers was victorious over Mark Chase for the three-year position as a Trustee of the Cemeteries. Rogers won 114-44, in a comfortable margin.

Richard Herfurth was the write-in winner for the three-year position of Trustee of Trust Funds, which had no candidates files, and Geoffrey Brock was the write-in winner for the one-year spot on the Budget Committee.

Lyndeborough voters also passed both proposed zoning amendments by wide margins.
