Warrant articles:

Article 1 asks voters to elect town officers.

Article 2 asks voters to adopt ballot voting for all town warrant articles, in the process known as SB2. This article will be on the ballot on March 12. A 3/5 majority is required to pass.

Article 3 asks voters to amend the town’s zoning ordinance to change the definitions relating to junkyards to be consistent with state law, and clarify the requirements for junkyards.

Article 4 asks voters to raise $1.44 for the town’s operating budget.

Article 5 would authorize the Select Board to enter a three-year lease-purchased agreement to lease a backhoe for the highway department. The total amount of the backhoe is $109,500, and the first year’s payment is $38,500.

Article 6 asks the town to raise $10,000 for the highway vehicle and equipment capital reserve.

Article 7 asks voters to raise $15,000 to be placed in the highway vehicle equipment maintenance and repair expendable trust.

Article 8 asks voters to raise $4,000 to be placed in the Fire Department vehicle maintenance and repair expendable trust.

Article 9 asks voters to raise $8,250 to purchase three sets of protective equipment for the fire department.

Article 10 asks the town to raise $1,400 for holiday lighting on the town common.

Article 11 asks the town to raise $2,500 for underground wiring of the town common, to provide electricity for town events held on the common.

Article 12 asks the town to allow the Select Board or its designee to enforce state building code, implement local enforcement processes, issue permits, grant or deny appeals, and establish fees to be charged for building permits, inspections and for any certificate of occupancy issued.

Article 13 asks voters to adopt an ordinance to waive the fee for a permit to register one motor vehicle owned by a person who was held as a prisoner of war for 30 days or more, and who was honorably discharged from service.

Article 14 asks to re-establish the position of the town’s administrative assistant as a full-time position with benefits and to raise $50,000 for the position’s salary and $30,000 for benefits. The current part-time position would be eliminated and replaced with the full-time one. This article is by petition.
