After the success of a recent case, Rindge police are once again asking for the public’s help on social media to identify suspects involved in a crime.
Police are searching for an older male and a younger female involved in a recent theft at Walmart, Police Chief Dan Anair posted to the department’s Facebook page on Monday afternoon.
An older male in a grey jacket picked up a wallet dropped by a young male at the store and claimed to have stolen nothing after he was confronted by the male’s wheelchair-bound mother, the post says.
The suspect flashed the bill and denominations that were stolen after the confrontation. The release says the total loss was $50.
A woman in a pink jacket appeared to be with the man when they left in a small, dark truck.
Rindge police were able to identify two individuals who stole purses from women shopping at local grocery stores earlier in the month with the help of a Facebook post last week.
Between 30 and 50 tips came into the department, Anair told the Ledger-Transcript, all but two of them leading to the same people.
Anair said Monday that warrants were being crafted for the two men that were identified.
Police have asked that anyone with information about the Walmart theft to call 603-899-5009 or rindgepd@gmail.com.
