Calls have been pouring into the Rindge Police Department reporting paintball vandalism all over town.
Patrolman Zach Letourneau said he and fellow officer Max Rocheleau have been fielding calls for the last two days about damage to mailboxes, windows, houses and vehicles caused by paintballs that were fired all over town in two separate incidents over the weekend.
Letourneau said the vandal hit homes after 9 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Police have received at least two dozen reports Sunday and Monday, he said, with more coming in since the department reported the vandalism on its Facebook page.
“They’re all over town,” Letourneau said. “On Route 119 from Fitzwilliam to Ashburnham and up and down Route 202. It’s all over.”
Letourneau said the department has already received some viable leads it is following up on, but encouraged those who experienced vandalism over the weekend to contact police.
“We’re positive about the information we’ve received, and we do have some viable leads, however, we’d like more information to solidify the information we have and so we can add them to the offenses in the report file and accurately charge the person.”
The person responsible could be charged with criminal mischief – vandalism and reckless conduct.
If you are a victim of vandalism please contact officers Max Rocheleau or Zach Letourneau of the Rindge Police Department and file a formal report at 899-5009 or police dispatch at 355-2000.
