Celebrate the town of Rindge’s 250th birthday on Sunday with a reading of the town’s charter.
The reading will occur at 2 p.m. at the Meeting House.
Sunday will mark the actual date that the town received its charter and was incorporated as a town.
The charter – which has been somewhat modified in present day language – will be read in the sanctuary upstairs.
The story of how the charter was discovered in deplorable conditions and then saved and put back together will also be told.
A reception with refreshments and raffles will follow downstairs in the Meeting House room.
The reading of the charter begins the town’s sestercentennial year. More events will occur throughout the year.
