Regarding Mr. Woods’ response (Letter, April 4) to my article, I would like him to know this:

Dear Mr. Woods:

I would love to get a chance to have dinner with you and get to know you. There is nothing I enjoy better than to listen to the life stories of others – especially those whose lives have been different than mine. I believe that I have something to learn from every person I meet. I honestly wish to hear about your life as a child, the turns you have made in your life, your joys, hardship and sorrows. If you so like, I would be delighted to open up my life story to you as well. I have no other intentions except a desire to connect with you as another human being, share a few laughs and even tears.

Just one thing – let’s keep politics out of the conversation completely. The dinner’s on me – at your favorite restaurant. My invitation is sincere. I hope you will accept. I am giving the editors permission to share my contact information with you if you ask them.

Warm regards.
