Six of 18 warrant articles aren’t recommended by Dublin’s Budget Committee this year, with Selectmen not supporting the committee’s recommended budget of $1,968,371.
Selectmen are not in favor of the committee’s budget as it doesn’t include funds for recruiting, the transfer station’s swap shop, and animal control. If added, those areas would add $4,939 to the proposed budget.
Article nine asks voters to raise $12,500 to conduct a broadband study. The committee cited a lack of information as reason to not support the article.
Article six asks voters to withdraw $24,750 from the Town Buildings Capital Reserve Fund to paint the exterior of the Town Hall. The committee does not support the article, saying Town Hall was painted eight years ago,
Two cemetery articles — $26,000 to construct a maintenance building and $5,000 Town Buildings Maintenance Capital Reserve Fund for repairs to the Hearse House — are also not recommended.
Two petition articles on the warrant urge the town to be a safe and welcoming community to immigrants and people with religious views.
Article 17 asks the town to not ask about, report, or act upon any person’s immigration status under any circumstances.
Article 18 asks the town to not require anyone to declare their religious or philosophical belief or affiliation or to require anyone to sign a registry.
