The Harris Center For Conservation Education is launching a new series focused on how nature can help people heal.
“Hiking through Grief” is a series of three hikes directed at folks who are grieving a loss in their life. The series takes part on three different Saturdays beginning on Jan. 28 and will continuing to Feb. 25 and March 25.
“Hiking in the healing presence of nature provides a unique and meaningful way to work through grief. This group offers a way to connect with others in a safe, supportive setting,” Communications Specialist Margaret Baker said in an email.
All the hikes are free of charge and open to anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, life transitions, or earth-centered grief.
Sandy Morgan will facilitate the hikes, which range from easy to moderately strenuous and will all take place on Harris Center trails.
The group will meeting in the Harris Center parking lot at 10 a.m. and will return by noon. Registration is required.
People are asked to bring water and snowshoes, or place a pair on reserve when they register.
