Greenville and Wilton are each seeking a resident interested in recycling to serve as a member of an advisory board for the multi-town Recycling Center.

The committee is tasked with promoting recycling within the communities that use the Wilton Recycling Center, which includes Wilton, Lyndeborough, Mason, Greenville and Temple.

“The goal is to remove as much from the waste stream as we can to protect the environment and generate less waste that has to be sent to a landfill or incinerator,” reads a press release. “The more we recycle, the more we can lower our waste disposal costs.”

The committee will help to improve recycling efforts, advise on how to improve operations and processes and help educate the general public on the advantages of recycling. The committee has not been operational for some time, but is required by the town’s contracted agreement to have representatives from each of the member towns.

Lyndeborough, Mason and Temple each have volunteers willing to take positions. Recycling Center Director Steve Elliott of Wilton will also attend meetings, but will not act as Wilton’s representative on the committee.

If you are interested in becoming Wilton’s representative, contact Wilton Town Administrator Scott Butcher at sbutcher@wiltonnh.org. If you are interested in becoming Greenville’s representative, contact Town Administrator Kelley Collins at 878-2084 or administrator@greenvillenh.org.
