The Conant  swim team hosted a home meet against a variety of opponents, including Mascenic, on Sunday. The Oriole girls took the top spot and a number of Viking swimmers did well individually.

Conant’s Kristyn Simoneau won the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke, with teammate Elsi Ojanen taking second in both races. Mascenic’s Grace Tucker was third in the 100 Backstroke.

Conant also won the girls’ 200 Freestyle Relay and 200 Medley Relay, while Mascenic won the girls’ 400 Freestyle Relay.

Mascenic’s Britany Boulerice won the 200 Freestyle, followed by teammate Emese Sexton in second; Conant’s Lily Germano was third and Felicia DeSteph fifth.

Conant’s Isabelle Ferguson and DeSteph went 1-2 in the 500 Freestyle.

On the boys’ side, Conant’s Brent Smith won the 100 Butterfly and came in second in the 200 Freestyle, with teammate Christopher Newton in fourth. 

The Oriole boys won the 200 Medley Relay.

Conant’s Garrett Cournoyer was third in the 50 Freestyle and fourth in the 500 Freestyle. Kole Patten was third in the 100 Freestyle. Joe Muhonen took fourth in the 100 Butterfly. Kevin Simmons was fifth in the 500 Freestyle. Scott LaBrecque took fifth in the 100 Backstroke.

Mascenic’s top boys’ swimmer on the day was Todd Rust, who placed second in the 100 Breaststroke and third in the 500 Freestyle.

Both teams will be back in action on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. at the Clark Memorial YMCA in Winchendon.
