FRIDAY, DEC. 23
Suspicious vehicle: At 12:40 a.m., police observed a vehicle in the lot at the Temple Mountain State Park near a vehicle that was broken down and left there for the night. Police made contact with the occupants who stated they had pulled over to figure out if they were going to Jaffrey or back to New Ipswich for the night. The vehicle left heading to Jaffrey.
Motor vehicle accident: At 3:45 a.m., Nathanial Jimoh, 39, of Manchester, went off the road on Route 101 in a 1999 Toyota Camry. He reported that he was working late hours and almost fell asleep before he went off the road. He was able to dig his car out of the snowbank, and there was no damage.
Parking: At 6 a.m., police spoke to the owners of two vehicles that had been parked on Grove Street for the past two nights and advised them of the winter parking ban.
Suspicious vehicle: At 6:30 a.m., a resident reported a vehicle drove up a driveway on Westview Drive with its lights off, then turned around and drove off. Police checked the area and surrounding houses, and did not find a vehicle or anything suspicious.
Motor vehicle accident: At 8:15 a.m., Evan Turner, 28, of Peterborough was driving north on Southfield Lane when he went off the road into a snowbank in a 2008 Hyundai Elantra. Police were able to push the car out of the snowbank. It was not damaged.
Civil issue: At 10:44 a.m., a former resident reported that her former roommate was holding her paycheck and refused to give it to her until she returns personal property that belongs to the roommate. Police spoke to the roommate and told her that she could not hold the paycheck as ransom and needed to get the check to its owner ASAP as it is considered theft. The caller agreed to bring the roommateโs items to the Police Department and the roommate will bring the check to the Police Department so the items can be swapped.
Lost property: At 12:45 p.m., a resident reported losing a wallet on Tuesday, possibly in the area of Bowerbird.
Motor vehicle accident: At 4:12 p.m., Rebecca Eder-Linell, 40, of Francestown was nothbound on Grove Street when the right front corner of her 2013 Toyota Sienna hit the left rear corner of a parked 2007 Jeep Compass owned by Gale Jones, 59, of Bennington. Both vehicles sustained significant damage in the area of the point of impact and were towed away.
Found property: At 4:17 p.m., a resident found a stray dog and tried to find its owner without success. She brought it to Tenneyโs where itโs owner was located through a microchip.
Juvenile offenses: At 6:39 p.m., a resident reported a juvenile neighbor had made her daughter smoke a cigarette. Police spoke with all the parents and juveniles involved.
Assist: At 6:52 p.m., police assisted Bennington Police Department at Monadnock Community Hospital with a patient who was involved in an accident.
Noise complaint: At 9:48 p.m., police received a report of fireworks going off at the intersection of Old Street Road and Sand Hill Road. Police were unable to find the source.
SATURDAY, DEC. 24
Road hazard: At 6:10 p.m., police contacted the Town Highway to treat Union Street and State Highway to treat Route 101.
Motor vehicle accident: At 6:45 p.m., Keanu Lagrenade, 22, of Rindge, was driving on Grove Street when his 1992 BMW 325IS went off the road and hit a stone wall. There was extensive front end and undercarriage damage, and the wall was also damaged. Lagrenade was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital via ambulance as he thought he may have a concussion and his neck hurt. The vehicle was towed away.
Motor vehicle accident: At 6:52 p.m., Cortney Barratt, 26, of Springfield, Vermont, was driving westbound on Route 101 in a 2003 Toyota pickup when she went off the road into a snowbank, skidded across the road into Dublin and hit the snowbank on the eastbound side. The truck was pulled back onto the road and was driven away.
Motor vehicle accident: At 8:50 p.m., a resident reported a vehicle collided with a utility pole and fled the scene northbound on Summer Street. A piece of plastic grill and broken light assembly were moved out of the road. There was no damage to the pole. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
SUNDAY, DEC. 25
Motor vehicle complaint: At 5:15 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle swerving on Old Street Road. Police located and stopped the vehicle and found the driver unimpaired.
Motor vehicle complaint: At 6:45 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle driving erratically. The plate given did not match the car.ย
Missing person: At 9 p.m., a New Ipswich resident reported that her boyfriend has been missing since 4:45 p.m. the previous day and was last seen in Rindge. Police spoke with a relative who also had not seen him. The caller later reported the boyfriend had returned home.
MONDAY, DEC. 26
Motor vehicle accident: At 9:30 a.m., Maria Johnson, 55, of Jaffrey was driving north on Route 202 in a 2016 BMW X3 when she was rear-ended by a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Robert Popovac, 58, of Walpole. Both vehicles were damaged and the Hyundai was towed from the scene.
Motor vehicle complaint: At 4:04 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle tailgating from Hancock Road to Main Street, but police were not in a position to respond.
Road conditions: At 8:25 p.m., police requested State Highway treat Route 101 West.
Suspicious incident: At 9:30 p.m., a report of two individuals walking around Hidden Treasures on Concord Street was found to be customers dropping off a U-Haul truck and looking for a place to leave the keys. The building was secure.
Road conditions: At 11:20 p.m., police contacted the highway department to treat Grove Street.
TUESDAY, DEC. 27
Suspicious incident: At 6:15 p.m., a customer reported the card scanner on a gas pump at the Big Apple appeared to have been tampered with. Police and a gas station attendant examined the tape, which appeared to be fine, and the tape on all of the pumps was later replaced.
Motor vehicle accident: At 8:02 a.m., a resident reported a truck had crashed into a tree on Slab Road, but there was no one in the area. There was extensive front-end damage, and the truck was towed away. The driver was later located. Charges are forthcoming.
Welfare check: At 9:01 a.m., a resident reported seeing some kids playing on Cunningham Pond and was concerned about their safety. Police informed her that most of the lakes and ponds around the area have had five or more inches of ice. Police spoke with the ice fisherman who informed him that there was about eight inches of ice currently on the pond.
Property lost: At 9:23 a.m., a resident reported losing a wallet yesterday somewhere in town.
Theft: At 9:25 a.m., an employee of a downtown business reported her pocketbook was stolen on Friday while in the Town House.
Parking complaint: At 11:08 a.m., a motorist reported a vehicle blocking a portion of the travel lane in the plaza. There was not plate number or vehicle description.
Motor vehicle complaint: At 2:12 p.m., a motorist reported a vehicle driving erratically on Route 101 since Milford. The plate number given came back to a vehicle not matching the callerโs description. The information was passed on to the Dublin Police.
Found property: At 11 p.m., New Ipswich police dropped off a cell phone that was turned into their agency.ย
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 28
Motor vehicle complaint: At 12:36 a.m., police received information that an intoxicated person had left Monadnock Community Hospital in a car. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
Suspicious incident: At 2:33 a.m., a resident reported a suspicious noise coming from outside of the house. Upon arrival, the caller was in the driveway and there was no evidence of anyone on the property.
Lost property: At 11:07 a.m., a caller reported losing a purse, possibly near the Waterhouse. She later reported that she had found the purse.
Theft: At 3 p.m., police received information about a theft of credit cards from a vehicle on Concord Street.
Theft: At 3:28 p.m., Frank Hampson, 36, of Manchester, was located and identified on Main Street as a suspect in a theft of a purse from the Town House on Dec. 23. Police found that Hampson had active warrants from Londonderry Police Department charging him with theft of a vehicle, and Milford Police Department charging him with three counts of theft and criminal trespass, and Amherst Police Department for fraudulent use of a credit card. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Police Department for processing, where they found several credit cards not in his name on his person. Peterborough police charged Hampson with four additional felony-level charges, including identity fraud, theft by unauthorized taking, fraudulent use of credit cards and receiving stolen property. Hampson refused bail and was transported to Valley Street Jail pending arraignment on Dec. 29. Hampsonโs parole officer also requested a 72 hour hold on Hampson as he was currently out on probation for several theft convictions.
At his arraignment, bail was set at $15,000 cash and Hampson was returned to Valley Street Jail and issued a court date of Jan. 4 at the 8thย Circuit Court, Jaffrey.ย
