The ConVal boys’ basketball team hung around with undefeated Lebanon on Friday, but the Raiders made moves in the second half, turning a 27-all tie into a 58-45 win. ConVal scored just two points in the third quarter.
The Raiders’ star KJ Matte is still out with a broken foot, and Trevor Hanley did a great job off the Cougar bench to keep second banana Ryan Milliken to just 13 points, but Graham Chickering scored 20 to pace Lebanon.
Senior Griffin Werth led ConVal with 17 points. Senior Cam Buffum hit four of six three-pointers for 12 points, and senior captain Isaac Bacon had six points, three blocks and 11 rebounds.
ConVal (1-4) travels to Stevens (4-1) Friday at 7 p.m. The Cardinals were undefeated up until Friday’s 59-48 loss to Monadnock.
