Peterborough’s medical marijuana grow facility is planning on its first harvest near the end of February.
After a long pre-production process, Prime Alternative Treatment began growing at the Vose Farm Road location in October.
“We’re really happy with the way things are going at the facility,” CEO Brett Sicklick said.
“And the plants are happy so that makes us even more happy.”
Once the plants have grown to the proper height to flower and trim, they will be cleaned and shipped to Prime’s treatment office in Merrimack.
Originally the hope was for a January shipment, but Sicklick said they are not going to rush it.
“The plants obviously we want to put them in to flower at the right height so we’re just letting them get there,” he said.
New Hampshire passed a law allowing medical marijuana in 2013.
According to an article in the Concord Monitor, state legislators are prepared to push for recreational legalizing in the coming years, and Governor-elect Chris Sununu said he will look at how neighboring states implement their new policies.
