The Board of Selectmen has enlisted the Conservation Commission to manage two timber cuts on property prior to their anticipated sale at an auction of Town owned property in 2017. These properties are on Rand Road; Map 92, Lot 5 and Lord Hill Road; Map 92, Lot 6. These properties were previously harvested approximately 20 years ago with an anticipated future selected harvest. These cuts will be done with a minimum number of equipment and personnel with a particular attention to preserve the buffers along the property lines.
These cuts will allow the Town to collect the rewards of its long term ownership and patient management of this natural resource while enhancing the property prior to selling.
Revenue from the timber sale will go to the Town General Fund.
