To the editor:
The suspension of ConVal Principal Brian Pickering smacks of a similarly equal and secret suspension of Assistant Superintendent Paul Bartalimucci.
Our district seems to want to keep issues (which are possibly presumed any possible issue) from the public, who pays these members highly. These members, being public servants, should be accountable to the public and in the public eye.
Taking a job, like being principal, demands that one be responsible in your actions and to be exposed to public scrutiny.
The public needs to know what our officials are doing because we need to add support if the charge is invalid, or allow public outcry if there is something quite negative.
As far as I know, Mr. Bartalimucci went off into the sunset to another, similar job after being forced out on a charge never exposed to that public scrutiny.
Conval School Board, please be transparent and stop being secretive.
This person is our publicly paid official in the service of our children.
