The Souhegan defense collapsed on ConVal center Hannah Reinfrank during Tuesday night’s game, focusing their efforts on shutting down the senior captain as the Sabers beat the Cougars 50-22.
“They double- and triple-teamed Hannah all night,” said head coach Deb Riley, “which we knew they would do, but our perimeter game didn’t step up to relieve that.”
Nonetheless, Riley said her team showed vast improvement over last week’s season-opening loss to Monadnock.
Reinfrank finished with seven points and four rebounds. Lindsey Carey scored a team-high 11, with five rebounds and four steals.
ConVal (0-2) travels to Kingswood (1-1) Friday at 6:30 p.m.
