The Franklin Pierce softball team has run an impressive food drive over the past few weeks.
Throughout the offseason the squad have been competing as two teams; the Mountain Goats and Leaf People. The team has done numerous activities over the course of the last month and they decided to compete with a canned food drive.
The squad collected over 500 cans that were donated to the Rindge Food Pantry.
โSomething that started out as a small in-team competition turned out to be an amazing way to give back to the communityโ said first year head coach Hannah Griffin. A team of 17 girls raised over 500 cans, itโs pretty amazing to me. I had no idea we would even reach over 100 cans, but these girls go the distance with any task they are given. I am proud to be their Coach, as a team are so happy we were able to give back during this time of the year.โ
The Raven players were receptive to the idea and were able to donate the cans before Thanksgiving.
