A state police officer said the threat directed at a Greenfield Elementary School staff member that resulted in the cancellation of school in November was sent via text message.
The threat was between family members, said State Police Trooper Kieran Fagan. The text was sent to the GES staff member’s phone, although it was intended for another sibling in the same family.
He said digits in the telephone numbers, which end in 01 and 10, were reversed.
“Looking back at this now and the alarm it created, one would asked what are the odds?” Fagan said. “But I have seen crazier things happen.”
He said criminal action will not be pursued.
