Dublin firefighters responded to a first alarm fire early Sunday that caused damage to a Dublin Road home.

Fire Chief Tom Vanderbilt said Tuesday that the fire, a petition fire around the chimney, caused damage to one of the home’s walls, as the department had to cut the wall to ensure that the fire was not spreading through the wall.

“We knocked the fire down quick,” said Vanderbilt. “We opened up the wall because we wanted to make sure the fire wasn’t in the wall.”

No injuries were reported.
