Thank you,volunteers

To the editor:

Without volunteers, how many charity events could take place? Probably none. This is certainly true for the Mariposa Museum’s annual Geography Challenge, held at the Peterborough Town House on Nov. 12.

Thanks first to our wonderful teams: the Buff Orpingtons from Nubasusit Neighborhood and Farm; the Dubliners; the Geo Trio; 3 Wise Guys; and the Wild Men of Europe!

Then to all those who helped us set up and run the event:

Tina Thaing, Lindsay Ewing, Martha Collins, Jean Rainier, Laura Bedard, Doug Ward, Michael Ladroga, Neil Falcone, Joyce Healy, and Isabel Wilder, Sarah Newell, Rachel Hurley, and Jessica Scharmett of the ConVal Interact Club.

Our marvelous bakers Melissa Brooks, Beverly Frink, Marge Hobbs, Pam Murphy, Allison Randall, Nadiya Weidmann, Pashya White and Wayan Suarni!

Sue Martin, scorer and the brains behind the questions; Irv Richardson, emcee; Bruce Dionne, judge; and John Van Besien, timer.

Finally, our many sponsors:

A. W. Peters, Bellows-Nichols, Concord Street Health Institute, Discover Europe, Edgewood Solutions, G. A. Perry DDS & Associates; Goodeve & Co., Grace Electric, Jellison Funeral Home, Joseph’s Coat, Kaufhold Family Memorials and Stone Works, Keating Plumbing & Heating, Nubanusit Neighborhood and Pinney Plumbing & Heating.

Also, RiverMead, Rosaly’s Farm Stand, Staff Development for Educators, Steele’s, Sterling Business & Studio-9247, the Toadstool, Valley Tire & Automotive, W.S. Badger, The Mountain for T-shirts, World Learning for flags of the world, Eighth Wonder for rice, and VGS Visual Graphic Systems for sponsor flags.
