On the heels of Thanksgiving comes the prime holiday shopping season. And with the recent upsurge and emphasis in keeping your dollars local, a prime holiday hunting ground is holiday fairs and bazaars.
This Saturday, there are several options for shoppers to browse.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Monadnock Crafters Guild Craft Madness holiday fair will be held at the Peterborough Community Center on Elm Street. The fair features a juried selection of handmade and homemade crafts and gifts from members of the guild.
At the Lyndeborough Holiday Fair at the J.A. Tarbell Library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be local crafters selling their wares, from a variety of baked goods and jams, jewelry and hand-knit and sewn items. There will also be a raffle for a 24-inch decorated boxwood tree. Tickets for the raffle are $1 each or six for $5. The drawing will be held at the end of the fair. Those who pre-purchased holiday wreaths may pick them up at the library from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The town’s Giving Tree, with names and suggested gifts for children in need will also be available.
Jaffrey will also be holding the annual VFW Auxiliary Annual Holiday Bazaar at the VFW Hall on Hathorn Road. The bazaar will feature over 30 vendors of art, handcraft and local products. There will be a bake sale and raffle included. The bazaar runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
