The Franklin Pierce women’s bowling team headed on the road to the Millsboro Lanes in Delaware to compete this weekend at the Hawk Classic hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

FPU finished the trip with a 7-7 mark and currently stand at 26-16 (.619) on the season. The Ravens finished in 12th place of 18 teams with a total pinfall of 12,840 in 72 games for an average of 178.3 a contest. FPU jumped up two spots in the standings from the second day of competition.

Sam Houston State University took home first place with a 13-1 record on the weekend and knocked down 15,093 pins and averaged 204 a match. seven tournament style competition. In their first match of the day the Ravens won by a 4-2 score versus no. 15 nationally-ranked Saint Francis (Pa.). With the win, the Crimson and Grey advanced to the next round to face off against St. Francis (N.Y.) and defeated the no. 20 nationally-ranked opponent by another 4-2 score. FPU’s tourney run ended in their showdown with no. 8 nationally-ranked North Carolina A&T with a 4.5-.5 setback.
