Junior goaltender Tom McGuckin stopped all 34 shots he faced to post his fourth career shutout on Saturday night, as the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team posted a 3-0 road win over Stonehill in Northeast-10 Conference play at Foxboro Sports Center. The Ravens got goals from three different players, including the first-period game-winner from freshman forward Matthew Toombs .
With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 5-2-0 (2-1-0 Northeast-10) and has won four straight, while Stonehill falls to 3-3-1 (1-2-0 Northeast-10). For Franklin Pierce, the four straight wins are the most by the program since a four-game winning streak from Feb. 2-14, 2013.
The Ravens return to the ice on Tuesday, Nov. 22, when they return home to host Westfield State in a non-conference contest. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.
