Monadnock Community Hospital is moving ahead with an affiliation with two other hospitals after a review has determined that the proposed partnership meets all state law requirements.
MCH will be affiliating with Catholic Medical Center and Huggins Hospital, resulting in the formation of a new organization under the name of GraniteOne Health. The partnership allows all three hospitals to grow their clinical relationships.
“Monadnock Community Hospital is highly regarded for its presence in the community,” said MCH President and CEO Cynthia McGuire in a press release issued last week.
“This affiliation strengthens us for the future, by empowering us to provide our patients greater access to highly-specialized care, close to home. It reinforces our commitment to the families of the Monadnock region.”
Each hospital will have representation on the GraniteOne Health Board of Trustees, which will develop the strategic direction and initiatives for the system. However, the individual hospitals will maintain their local boards, identity, and assets.
Of the GraniteOne Health board, CMC will have seven trustees, MCH and Huggins one trustee each, and each hospital’s CEO will sit as an ex-officio with full voting rights, as well as the CEO of GraniteOne.
The affiliation is expected to be finalized by the end of December, pending approval from the Antitrust Bureau, with GraniteOne Health in place and operational in January.

MCH is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Peterborough. CMC is a 330-bed acute care hospital in Manchester.
Huggin Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital in Wolfeboro.
