Cats rehomed after hurricane

Fifteen shelter cats displaced by Hurricane Matthew were recently relocated to the Monadnock Humane Society’s facility, where they were cared for and made available for adoption.

Prior to Hurricane Matthew reaching South Carolina, the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission in Ridgeland, South Carolina, .took proactive steps to evacuate approximately a hundred animals to Colleton County Animal Care & Control, where a County Animal Response Team provided daily care to the animals. Following the category 4 storm and the tremendous damage it left behind, including loss of power and building damage, JARM requested assistance from the ASPCA’s Animal Relocation Team as it was unable to take back all of its cats.

The Monadnock Humane Society partnered with the ASPCA to care for and find new homes for 15 cats.
