Freshman Aidan Gilbride (East Kilbride, Scotland) and senior Dage Minors (Hamilton Paris, Bermuda) have both earned All-East Region honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as announced by the USTFCCCA on Monday.
The USTFCCCA bestows All-Region accolades to the top 25 finishers at each of the eight NCAA Regional meets held across the country. It marked the first career USTFCCCA All-East Region selection in cross country for both runners.
On Sunday at the NCAA East Regional, at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds, Minors turned in a 10k time of 31:47.5 to finish fourth, while Gilbride followed with a time of 31:50.1 to place fifth. Both advanced to the NCAA National Championship race, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, in Saint Leo, Fla. The duo led Franklin Pierce to a fourth-place finish, out of 23 competing schools.
