Jaffrey Recreation Director Renee Sangermano will take over as interim Rindge Recreation Director until a new replacement can be found.
Sangermano’s temporary hiring was announced at the Rindge Select Board meeting on Wednesday.
Sangermano began coming in last week to help, according to the board.
“Sangermano is going to help keep things going for us,” said Selectwoman Roberta Oeser. ”
Selectman Jim Qualey said Sangermano will work from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for the time being.
A brief conversation was had about having a joint recreation director for both towns, but no decision or deep discussion was had.
Selectmen approved to pay Higher Design of Rindge $3,800 out of the Department of Public Works budget to have the company survey, layout and install markers on a 2.5 acre portion of the town cemetery so additional lots may be built.
Also approved was a bid for winter sand and an extension of the town’s agreement with Monadnock Disposal Service to remove the town’s solid waste.
C&C Trucking in Jaffrey won the bid with a price of $11.50 per yard.
DPW Director Mike Cloutier said the town uses about 2,000 yards per year.
The contract with MDS is a five-year extension of the original deal, which locks the town in at paying MDS $80 per ton to remove solid waste. Cloutier said it was a great deal for the town, as it would cost more for the town to remove the waste itself.
The board also accepted a $990.66 grant that reimburses half of the money the town recently spent on two bulletproof vests.
