The Franklin Pierce women’s bowling team traveled to Fairleigh Dickinson University for the New Jersey Jamboree at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, N.J. this past weekend.
The Crimson and Grey finished in eighth place out of 27 teams with a total pinfall of 12,041 good for a total average of 179.7 per game. Overall the Ravens have gone 7-5 in the tournament and stand at 17-9 on the campaign.
Jessica Davies and Jessica Marcurewere named to the All-Tournament team. Davies placed ninth with an average of 196.40 and Marcure finished in 10th after her teammate averaging a total of 196.20 over the weekend.
The squad was 3-2 against nationally ranked opponents over the three days and have gone 6-4 this season versus top echelon teams.
On the third day of bowling, the Ravens started off the morning with a 971-961 win over Valparaiso. The next two matches were best of seven contests. The team dropped the first match of the best of seven against Wisconsin-Whitewater 4-2, but the Crimson and Grey chalked up two scores over 200 in the setback. Next, the Ravens competed versus St. Francis (Pa.) and fell 4-2 to end their tournament run.
The Crimson and Grey will return to action on November 18th and 19th at the Hawk Classic in Millsboro, Del.
