The Dublin Community Center will feature the work of two young artists during the month of November.
Lily Featherston and Claire Lowenthal both grew up in Dublin, graduated from ConVal High School, attended art school, and moved to Portsmouth and Boston respectively.
Featherston ‘s work is focused on a close examination of the natural world, often animals and plants. In her artist’s statement she says that she’s “always been attracted of the small details,” the expression of a sheep or the center of a flower, for instance.
Lowenthal, on the other hand, has moved to the urban landscape for inspiration. Her statement says, “From sky-scraping buildings to different modes of public transportation, I am interested in showing different aspects of how I view my surroundings.”
An artists’ reception will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
