A motorcyclist escaped with non-life-threatening injuries after crashing in the rotary near the Shaw’s Market in Peterborough, Tuesday evening.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and the driver was alone on the motorcycle.
Peterborough Fire and Rescue and Peterborough Police responded to the accident at about 7:51 p.m. Thursday.
“Witnesses say that the driver of the motorcycle failed to negotiate the curve, ” said Peterborough Fire Chief Ed Walker. “Witnesses say he did not appear to be going too fast. He was an experienced driver.”
The operator of the motorcycle was headed east on Route 101 when he came into the rotary and hit the curb, causing the bike to crash.
The victim was transported to Elliot Hospital by ambulance.
“He had some broken bones, but overall, he was very lucky,” Walker said. “It could have been a lot worse.”
