GIRLS’ SOCCERWLC shut out in playoff game

The WLC girls headed up to Profile and came back empty-handed, save for a 5-0 playoff loss.

The Warriors played much better than the score indicated, coach Bill Draper pointed out. Dani Bird had a fabulous game up front, blasting by defenders, but just couldn’t connect with the net. Defensivly, Megan VanderWoude played exceptionally, turning back many of Profile’s attempts.

With usual keeper Abby LeBlanc unable to play due to illness, an injured Naomi Wight, after a total of 10 minutes of keeper training, filled in as a last-minute goalkeeper, managing 13 saves.

WLC finished the regular season at 6-10.
