The Mascenic boys’ soccer team traveled up to Belmont Wednesday with a playoff upset on their minds, but Raiders goalie Jonny LeClair had other plans. The Vikings got off a number of strong shots on goal, but time and again, LeClair – whose Raiders only allowed ten goals all season – came up huge, most notably making a diving, one-handed punchout in the top corner on a Daimon Gibson free kick that would have tied the game.
Noah Caballero was the only Viking to score as Mascenic lost 3-1. The Vikings went 8-8 in the regular season before their playoff loss.
